Bridging Organization of
NRBs for Development (BOND)

Mission:
To harness the collective potential of non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) globally to contribute to the human capital development in Bangladesh through strategic partnerships, charitable initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

About Us

Background and Rationale

Non-resident Bangladeshis, estimated to number in the millions, reside across the globe and have established successful careers in various fields, including business, academia, medicine, technology, and engineering, among others. Despite their distance from their homeland, the emotional and financial ties of NRBs to Bangladesh remain strong. This group possesses immense potential to contribute to Bangladesh’s development. However, there is a lack of a cohesive framework to channel their resources and expertise effectively for the nation’s advancement.

Objectives

01

Mobilize Human Capital

▪ Engage NRBs in skill transfer initiatives and professional mentorship programs.
▪ Create platforms for NRBs to contribute their expertise to educational institutions, research projects, and public policy development in Bangladesh.

02

Strengthen Cultural and Social Ties

 ▪ Organize cultural exchanges and events to strengthen the bond between NRBs and their cultural heritage.
▪ Facilitate community-building activities among NRBs to create a unified and vibrant diaspora network.

03

Promote Economic Development

 ▪ Create platforms for NRBs to invest in startups and small-scale industries in Bangladesh.
▪ Develop partnerships with local businesses to boost trade and economic activities.

Key Activities

Creation of a Centralized Online Platform

Develop a sophisticated online platform that serves as the primary hub for NRB engagement. The platform will feature project listings, volunteer opportunities, investment portals, and forums for idea exchange.

Establishing a Reliable Database of Successful NRBs

Create a comprehensive database of successful NRBs (Non-Resident Bangladeshis) working in various countries. This database should include detailed profiles highlighting their performance and achievements. Such a resource will facilitate easy contact with NRBs based on their availability and consent.

Annual Conference and Networking Events

Host an annual conference to bring together NRBs, government officials, business leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss collaborative opportunities and recognize achievements.

Mentorship and Training Programs

■ Establish a mentorship program connecting NRB professionals with young talents in Bangladesh.
■ Conduct webinars, workshops, and training sessions on various topics utilizing the expertise of NRBs.

Charity and Philanthropy Initiatives

Launch fundraising campaigns targeted at critical areas in need of support such as disaster relief, healthcare, and education

Strategic Partnerships

1. Government and Public Institutions:
■ Collaborate with relevant ministry departments to align NRBF’s initiatives with national development goals and policies.
■ Work with public universities and research institutions for knowledge transfer programs.

2. Private Sector:
■ Partner with local businesses and industries to create employment opportunities and foster economic growth.
■ Engage with financial institutions to tailor investment products for NRBs.

3. Non-Governmental Organizations:
■ Leverage existing NGO networks for effective delivery of charitable initiatives and community projects.
