১. মাইন্ডসেট:
দেশ ছেড়ে বিদেশে কাজ করতে যাওয়া মানেই এক বিশাল চ্যালেঞ্জ। নতুন পরিবেশ, নতুন নিয়ম, দীর্ঘ কর্মঘণ্টা—এসব কিছু মানিয়ে নিতে হলে দরকার মানসিক শক্তি, ধৈর্য এবং ইতিবাচক মনোভাব।
অনেকেই ভাবেন, বিদেশ গেলেই আয় বেড়ে যাবে। বাস্তবে বিষয়টি এমন নয়। সফল হতে হলে নিয়মিত পরিশ্রম, সময়ানুবর্তিতা এবং দায়িত্বশীলতা অপরিহার্য। পাশাপাশি মানসিকভাবে স্থিতিশীল থাকা জরুরি। পরিবারের অভাব, কর্মক্ষেত্রের চাপ বা সাংস্কৃতিক ভিন্নতার কারণে অনেক সময় হতাশা চলে আসতে পারে। তাই নিজের আবেগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে শেখা, লক্ষ্য ঠিক রাখা এবং প্রয়োজনে সাহায্য চাওয়া অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

ভাষা হলো যোগাযোগের মাধ্যম। আপনি যত স্মার্টলি যোগাযোগ করতে পারবেন, তত বেশি ভালো চাকরি, সমস্যা সমাধান এবং উপার্জনের সুযোগ পাবেন। কাতারে কাজের ক্ষেত্রে সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয় ইংরেজি ও আরবি ভাষা।
ইংরেজি জানলে আপনি নির্মাণ প্রতিষ্ঠান, হোটেল, রেস্টুরেন্ট বা সার্ভিস সেক্টরে সহজেই কাজ পেতে পারেন। নিরাপত্তা নির্দেশনা, চুক্তিপত্র এবং অফিসিয়াল নির্দেশনাও ইংরেজিতে হয়। ইংরেজি জানলে আপনি সুপারভাইজার বা উচ্চতর পদেও কাজ করার সুযোগ পাবেন।
ইংরেজির পাশাপাশি আরবি ভাষা জানারও বিশেষ গুরুত্ব আছে। স্থানীয় মালিকরা আরবিতে কথা বলতে পছন্দ করেন। আরবি ভাষায় দক্ষতা আপনার কেনাকাটা, রাস্তাঘাটে চলাফেরা কিংবা স্থানীয়দের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগকে অনেক বেশি সহজ করে তুলবে।
ভাষা শিখতে এখন খুব সহজ মাধ্যম রয়েছে। আপনি Duolingo, Memrise এর মতো মোবাইল অ্যাপ ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।ইউটিউবে প্রবাসী শ্রমিকদের জন্য তৈরি ভিডিও দেখতে পারেন, এবং প্রতিদিন বন্ধু-পরিবারের সঙ্গে অল্প হলেও ইংরেজি-আরবি অনুশীলন করতে পারেন।
৩. অন্যান্য প্রস্তুতি:
মাইন্ডসেট ও ভাষা দক্ষতার পাশাপাশি আপনার প্রবাসজীবনকে সহজ ও সফল করে তুলতে আরো কিছু প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার প্রয়োজন আছে।
কাজে যাওয়ার আগে অবশ্যই বিএমইটি (BMET) বা সরকারি স্বীকৃত রিক্রুটিং এজেন্সির মাধ্যমে প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করুন। অবৈধ দালালদের এড়িয়ে চলুন। আপনার চুক্তিপত্র ভালোভাবে পড়ুন—আপনার দায়িত্ব, বেতন, কর্মঘণ্টা ও থাকা-খাওয়ার শর্ত ভালোভাবে বুঝে নিন। বুঝতে না পারলে কোনো কাগজে সই করবেন না।
সরকার ও এনজিওর দেওয়া প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহণ করুন। এসব প্রশিক্ষণে বিদেশে জীবনযাপন, স্বাস্থ্য ও আইনি অধিকার সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য প্রদান করা হয়।
আর্থিক দিক থেকেও প্রস্তুত থাকতে হবে। অনেকেই উচ্চ সুদে ঋণ নিয়ে দালালদের টাকা দেন, যা পরবর্তীতে তাদের জন্য বোঝা হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। কাজ শুরু করার আগে আপনার সম্ভাব্য আয়, খরচ ও সঞ্চয়ের একটি স্পষ্ট পরিকল্পনা করুন। দেশের কোনো বিশ্বস্ত ব্যাংকে অ্যাকাউন্ট খুলে নিন, যাতে সহজে ও নিরাপদে টাকা পাঠাতে পারেন।
দক্ষতা বাড়ানোর দিকেও মনোযোগ দিন। দক্ষ শ্রমিকদের (যেমন: ইলেকট্রিশিয়ান, ড্রাইভার, ওয়েল্ডার, বাবুর্চি) চাহিদা এবং আয় দুটাই বেশি। স্থানীয় কোনো প্রশিক্ষণ প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে প্রাথমিক কোর্স করে একটি সনদ সংগ্রহ করুন। এতে আপনি ভালো চাকরি ও ভালো বেতন পাবেন।
বিদেশে যাওয়ার আগে একটি পূর্ণ স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা করিয়ে নিন। শুধু ভিসার জন্য নয়, এটি আপনার নিজের নিরাপত্তার জন্যও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কাতারে শ্রমিকদের জন্য কিছু নিরাপত্তা বিধান ও জরুরি হেল্পলাইন রয়েছে, সেগুলো জেনে নিন। মানসিকভাবে বিপর্যস্ত বোধ করলে কোথায় যোগাযোগ করবেন সেটিও জেনে নিবেন।
