Milestone in London: BOND UK FGD Sparks Diaspora-Driven Ideas for Youth & Startups
Milestone Achieved!
We’ve just crossed an important milestone in the journey of BOND (Bridging Organization with NRBs for Development) — successfully hosting a focused 2-hour FGD on “From Britain to Bangladesh: How Diaspora Can Power Youth, Careers & Startups” at the St Pancras & Somers Town Living Centre, London. Please visit www.bondbd.net to learn more about BOND.
This wasn’t just an event — it was a moment of clarity, commitment, and community.
Together, we explored bold questions like:
- How can I give back—without moving back?
- What do youth and entrepreneurs in Bangladesh truly need?
- Can we mentor, fund, or inspire the next generation of changemakers?
Deep gratitude to our thoughtful participants including:
- Dr. SMA Moin – Reader/Associate Professor of Marketing, Queen Mary University
- Dr Nehal Mahtab, Deputy Head of Department of Management at Deputy Head of Department of Management at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University
- Md Anwaruzzaman Anwar – Director, D Form Architecture
- Najia Jafrin – Founder & CEO, Haa-Aya Businesses Ltd.
- Praptee Zaman—a 2nd generation NRB.
- Aiman Atiqur Rahman and Saidha Fathema —recently-arrived students in the UK.
Although he could not make it to the meeting, The University of Sheffield Associate Professor of Marketing Dr. Bidit Dey and Quazi M. Ahmed, Founder & President, BOND had an insightful conversation on his interest in contributing to building research capacity in Bangladesh’s private universities.
This discussion marked a small but significant step in energizing the global Bangladeshi spirit for nation-building.
BOND is growing — one conversation, one commitment, one community at a time.
