Dhaka, July 6, 2023 — BOND (Bridging Organization with NRBs for Development) successfully hosted a thought-provoking talk titled “Billions for Bangladesh: Uniting a Global Diaspora for Local Impact” in Dhaka, bringing together a diverse group of Bangladeshi expatriates, local leaders, and development stakeholders.

The event spotlighted the immense potential of the Bangladeshi diaspora in driving transformative social and economic change in the country. It served as a timely call to action for collaboration, innovation, and investment in Bangladesh’s future.

The keynote speaker, Anis Rahman, Co-Founder of BOD and CEO of Billions for Bangladesh (BfB), delivered a powerful message on the untapped strength of the diaspora. “The potential of our diaspora is immense,” Rahman emphasized. “By uniting our efforts, we can create a lasting impact that transforms lives and strengthens communities back home.”

The session was expertly moderated by Quazi M. Ahmed, Founder & President of BOND and Managing Partner of Quazi Consultants. Drawing on his experience in leadership and international partnerships, Ahmed added, “Collaboration is key. Together, we can ignite a movement that not only empowers local communities but also reconnects our diaspora with their roots.”

The event offered a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas, fostering partnerships, and developing actionable strategies for sustainable development in Bangladesh. Attendees explored new models of diaspora engagement from philanthropy and social entrepreneurship to skills exchange and policy advocacy.
